Could play spolier again
If arsenal win their games in hand even us getting a draw against liverpool could see us costing them top 4

I have alot of liverpool fans for mates and they have been chirping all season so for us to play a part in fucking that up for them would be very sweet

Agree- I think we've tried to be a bit too cavalier in our approach in some games this season- probably off the back of how we did last season. For numerous reasons we just couldn't replicate the same form.

As much as BFS got stick for being too defensive, I think Bilic's problem has been the opposite. He had the excuse v Tottenham to be more defensive, because we all knew we had such a limited attack available. We weren't set up anywhere near as defensively against City, which combined with the fact that you are right, they were on fire too, meant we got dicked. Arsenal, and particularly Sanchez were also on their game.

As much joy it'd bring me to stop Liverpool finishing in a CL position, the fear that the door could be opened for the red Mancs immediately wipes the smile off my face.

Re: Could play spolier again
To be honest, I think Man City were just a bit unplayable both times we faced them at home. Especially in the league. We couldn't handle the pace and movement of their front three in the slightest. Partly I think Bilic got his tactics wrong though.

Arsenal we definitely let ourselves down. No excuses.

And a lot of us are saying the same thing Lily!

Not obscene but where's that performance been! Hanging on to a lead against a free scoring side was the most pleasing for me.

Dropping points to the likes of West Brom, Hull, Watford, and the rest has been extremely frustrating! Something to work on for next season for Bilic, how to close a game out!

Don't give away possession and don't sit back!

If we'd set up and put in as much effort defensively v Man City and Arsenal as we did against Tottenham, we may not have won and may have still lost, but I feel certain we wouldn't have been tonked like we were.

Re: Could play spolier again
I don't think we really put markedly more effort in- I think we can play better against teams that come at us, get forward and give us room to play, rather than the vast majority who set up to stifle everything and then hit you on the break. We don;t have the invention to play through it, and it's really rare we've had situations like against Spurs where there was space in and behind their defence to exploit- mainly because they play like they're not afraid to lose the ball, and sometimes do lose it.

Fantastic manager was Fergie and I always admired his passion for the game, the jock slag.

Duke

In that sense, he was absolutely right, and Pochetino would be justified in calling our performance on Friday obscene for the exact same reasons.

Re: Could play spolier again
I think that's the game where Ferguson described our performance as 'obscene' because we put in such a shift.

Also said if we'd played with that commitment all season we wouldn't be where we were in the league!

What's was this then.....as this is when he got all precious.....

West Ham 1-0 Manchester United, 22 April 1992

West Ham were bottom of the league and already relegated but Kenny Brown’s 66 th minute volley was enough to give West Ham a 1-0 win. That left United one point behind Leeds with two games left to play and their bitter Yorkshire rivals held their nerve to lift the title.

terry

Lyall is mentioned on page 1 of Ferguson's autobiography. I met red nose when he was speaking to a business school about leadership at my work last year, (wearing my late 70s West Ham shirt, of course when I welcomed him to the stage). After a bit of banter, I spoke on behalf of all Hammers thanking him for his kind words about Lyall, and he went all serious saying "Top Man, Top Man." I know he respects West Ham, and especially John Lyall.

To be fair to Taggart,he was good friends with John Lyall.and spoke at his funeral.

Wasn't his rant in 1992 when we did go down and us beating them handed the title to Leeds?

Side, we weren't already relegated when Ferguson had his rant. We had just about survived after a bad season & he thought we should have lay down to hand him the title, but we didn't!

Re: Could play spolier again
Last game at home, plus Liverpool looked truly awful yesterday, so have we finally turned that corner sufficiently to beat them? Hoping we can repeat Friday but I say a draw is the most likely.

Re: Could play spolier again
My dream scenario includes beating Liverpool to help keeping them out of the top 4.

Also Man U beating Tottenham to spoil their last match at WHL, but then fucking up to finish below Liverpool to also miss out on the top 4, and obviously not winning the Europa.

Man City and Arsenal taking the last two spots in the top 4.

Tottenham losing all their matches, Arsenal winning all of theirs including the cup final. That way, they are only two points behind Tottenham with a trophy to show for it and CL football. This will also make the Wenger Out clowns clearly look as stupid and disrespectful as they are. Wenger leaves and the gooners turn to shit from then on.

Also Chelsea some how to lose all their games to make Tottenham rue the end of their winning run that much more.

If Carlsberg did end of season results.....

Re: Could play spolier again
They can certainly fuck themselves, as I placed £20 on an enhanced bet of 3/1 for both them and Arsenal to win yesterday, so them and Milner can all now do one, the self pitying cunts.

I'd love to beat LIverpool! Fantastic way to finish an abortion of a season to beat them and Spurs

Beating Liverpool would be exquisite and a nice way to round off what has been a very disappointing season.
